My Role
In a team consisting of a project manager, two product designers, a graphic designer, and developers. I was responsible for designing the Responsive UI for the web and purchase system for the product.
Challenge
Cricuru's pricing structure required adaptability; it couldn't simply be a single-purchase method for each item or a time-limited subscription model for the entire platform .
In order to keep it cost effective users should be able to subscribe to various courses from their preferred mentors individually. However, repeating this process for every course would be exhausting for users and detrimental to conversions.
Solution
We regarded a specific course as a channel that can be subscribed to annually. However, the content is organised like a course, giving it the feel of a singular product that should be bought like one. As a result, we introduced a shopping cart system. When a user subscribes to a course, it's added to their cart, allowing them to add multiple courses and complete the purchase in a single transaction.
Purchase flow
User identifies a specific course of interest that they would like to subscribe to on the platform
Navigates to the course's details page. The course is presented as a singular product with organised content, creating a perception that it should be subscribed individually.
To accommodate users who want to subscribe to multiple courses, a shopping cart system is introduced on the platform.
When the user decides to subscribe to a particular course, they click on the "Subscribe" button on the course's details page.
The course is then added to the user's shopping cart, which can be accessed and managed through a designated cart link.
The user can continue browsing the platform and add more courses to their cart by following the same process for each course they want to subscribe to.
Once the user has added all the desired courses to their cart, they proceed to the checkout process.
The user clicks on the "Checkout" button within the shopping cart.
After confirming the purchase, the platform processes the transaction and provides a confirmation page with a link to "My subscriptions page"
The user receives access to the subscribed courses immediately allowing them to begin learning and engaging with the course content.
Conclusion
In addressing the challenge of Cricuru's pricing structure, we have successfully implemented a solution that provides adaptability and cost-effectiveness for users. By considering each course as a subscription channel and leveraging a shopping cart system, we have streamlined the process of subscribing to multiple courses.
This solution not only simplifies the user experience but also improves conversions and revenue generation for Cricuru. With the ability to add and purchase multiple courses in a single transaction, users can now enjoy a seamless learning journey while benefiting from learning from their preferred mentors. Overall, the implemented solution enhances the overall usability and effectiveness of Cricuru's web portal, leading to a positive user experience.
